About Kathryn

Kathryn Paden, American vocalist and educator, lives in North Knoxville, Tennessee. Though she maintains a daytime living as an administrative support professional, she enjoys an artistic career on the theatrical and concert stage, and as a local/regional entertainer, church musician, and voice teacher. Known for her impressive breath control, wide vocal range, and versatility in repertoire, Kathryn can be found taking on multiple projects ranging from classical to musical theater and even Disney personas; she is often seeking ways to expand her audience and venues, whether it be in a large concert hall, center stage, a benefit event, a church, or a local coffee shop. Though she enjoys traveling from time to time for performance opportunities, she is proud to remain a true grounded Knoxvillian.

Kathryn has appeared on stage with multiple companies and ensembles in the East Tennessee region, including the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, Knoxville Opera Company, Oak Ridge Playhouse, Clarence Brown Theatre, The Word Players, Foothills Community Players, and multiple high schools and universities as a guest artist or clinician.

She has been a member of the Knoxville Choral Society and the Knoxville Chamber Chorale for 10 and 5 years, respectively. She has found a family of friends who share her love of making music as a team...and has thoroughly enjoyed some of the amazing concert work opportunities she's been given by being part of the KCS. From Handel's Dixit Dominus to John Legend's All of Me, these ensembles have sung it all! Kathryn is a self-proclaimed choral music nerd, and could listen to it all day long, as well as the morning and afternoon concerts on WUOT-FM. She considers vocal solo/choral literature as her version of a book club.

A few more fun facts about Kathryn: she's a lefty, proud aunt of 3, has a twin sister, doesn't eat seafood of any kind, loves the beach and a good coffee shop (sometimes too much, if there is such a thing), a strong Manhattan, and her top dream careers are to sing in a Beckenhorst Press recording studio choir, or to go on a national Broadway tour of (almost) any show. Top dream Broadway roles? Sylvia in Finding Neverland, Elsa in The Sound of Music, Ursula in The Little Mermaid, Eponine in Les Mis, Paulette in Legally Blonde, the Witch in Into the Woods. Keep the dreams big!
